Ambien maker to Roseanne: 'Racism is not a known side effect'

Within 12 hours, however, the Disney Co.'s ABC canceled Barr's hit show that premiered March 27 and was watched by a stunning 27 million viewers.

The actress had said she was going to quit Twitter after apologizing to Valerie, but she didn't stay silent for long. She retweeted fans who portrayed her as the victim of a liberal media double standard.

'As I called my manager to quit working on Roseanne, I was told it was cancelled.

On the Tuesday Fox News' segment, commentator Jessica Tarlov blasted Barr's derogatory tweets and said they're clearly "racist".

Jarrett, who was born in Iran to American parents and raised in the United States, had been the target of false allegations that she practiced Islam during her tenure in the Obama administration.

The network's decision comes after Roseanne Barr went on a Twitter tirade on Tuesday morning (May 29). But after the drugmaker fired back with a snarky reply Wednesday, the comic may soon be looking to treat a burn. She also thanked those who supported her, including media personality Lionel.

Barr tweeted that what she did was unforgiveable and urged supporters not to defend her. "ME", Barr wrote. "You throw me under the bus. nice!" "Not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted) but I've done weird stuff whole on ambien - cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc".

Oddly, she later deleted all of her references to the medication. Barr's explanation was deemed laughable. In one tweet she calls her own words indefensible and blames Ambien for the initial tweet.

She later followed that tweet by stating "Muslims r NOT a race" and "ISLAM is not a RACE, lefties". I will handle my sadness the way I want to. "It just shocked me a bit, but I indeed fucked up".

The remarks prompted immediate calls for boycotts of the show. She also lashed out at co-stars Michael Fishman and Sara Gilbert.

It was one of the highest rated reboots in TV history, but it was just canceled.

But then she deleted her retweet of that post.

"I've been so disheartened by what's acceptable in the world right now, what's acceptable in the White House", McCain said. Ratings for the show stayed steady over the course of its remaining eight episodes, which resulted in ABC renewing what Dungey once deemed as a "fresh and relevant" production.

She has a history of diving into political conspiracy theories on Twitter, and that's how she ended her Memorial Day weekend.
