Childish Gambino Debuts New Song 'Saturday' on SNL

With the release of the song comes an official music video, directed by Hiro Murai, and it's... intense to say the least and will undoubtedly piss off a whole bunch of conservatives. The visuals echo the equally unpredictable lyrics, which vary from "I know you wanna party/ Party just for me/ Girl, you got me dancin" to "This is America/ Police be trippin' now/ Yeah, this is America/ Guns in my area".

Donald Glover dropped a new Childish Gambino track and music video Saturday night.

And of course he couldn't appear on the show without paying homage to his new Stars Wars role and roasting Kanye West and his Twitter meltdown.

Not everyone was a fan of the singer's psychedelic soul, funk and R&B sound, and mostly confused with the concept of Glover's alter ego. Today, he is best known as the writer and creator of FX's Atlanta, which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Musical or Comedy. The movie hits theaters on July 19, 2019.

Continue for the story behind Gambino's "Awaken, My Love!" headpiece below. He recently left Glassnote Records for RCA ready for the release.

During his opening monologue, Glover reminisced about his early SNL auditions. "I'm really appreciative of this. We should only talk about what's important", Bryant said. But NBC does have some good things in store for us. Watch for yourself to see when Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
