LeBron James at his brilliant best as Cleveland…

James has been within the finals yearly since 2011 - 4 with Miami, and now 4 straight with Cleveland.

Given LeBron James has made it to seven consecutive NBA Finals and won five consecutive Game 7s (including one earlier this postseason), it would seem foolish to bet against him Sunday night.

But James keeps showing he can do it, and he can't wait for his chance to win another ring.

Game seven is in Boston on Sunday, with the victor meeting either Houston or Golden State in the finals. "That's all that matters".

If the Cavaliers' shamrock beatdown proves an Irish wake and James' roof-lifting stepback 3-pointer in the final minutes of a season-saving 109-99 win over the Celtics endures as our final image of him in Cleveland, how fitting it was.

And the Cavaliers will need every bit of it.

From the Rockets to the Lakers to the Sixers, James has been linked to a plethora of future landing spots despite publicly stating his sole focus is on winning another championship with the Cavs.

Regardless of whether he can drag his team-mates to another trophy, James' time in Cleveland appears to be up, with several huge teams circling for his signature.

"I don't enjoy being in a position where it's like you lose and go home, but we'll just try to extend the series as long as I can and just try to put myself and my team in position to be able to continue to play, " James said.

The same franchise that once took names anytime, anywhere this time of year now curls up like a dog in a thunderstorm every time it leaves home.

"And he does it at this level with the pressure and scrutiny".

This was the year James' finals streak looked over. While the Cavaliers didn't have Kevin Love to turn to Sunday night, Jeff Green would fill in.

CLEVELAND - No one cancels trophy presentations like the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers took full advantage of that lull, too, mounting a 17-7 run to close out the game and roll to the eight-point win.

"I mean, the bigger the stage, the bigger the player, and he's been doing it for us since we've been here", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said.

James came into Game 6 as the NBA's all-time best in elimination games - averaging 33.5 points, 10.8 boards and 7.3 assists in 21 contests.

And he'll like them again starting Thursday even if the oddsmakers don't.

If the Celtics bring anything less than their best performance of this series, none of that outside stuff will matter.

The Cavaliers continued their strong offensive play as they went onto complete a 20-4 run to go up 44-34 with 4:59 left in the first half. Nobody had ever overcome that deficit in the championship round, and Cleveland had to do it against a team that had won an NBA-record 73 games.

"The Celtics are 0-11 on uncontested 3-pointers since the 1st quarter".

Timing can be a unusual thing in sports, because people have continually said this is the worst team James has had around him since that last loss to the Celtics in 2010.
