LG launches G7 ThinQ, G7+ ThinQ flagship smartphones featuring notch-display

LG G7 ThinQ sports a 6.1-inch QHD+ (3120 x 1440) display sporting a 19.5:9 FullVision screen ratio and a bottom bezel which is nearly 50 percent slimmer than on the LG G6.

The LG G7 ThinQ also has a number of new artificial intelligence powered features on its camera. Hence, the LG G7 ThinQ comes with some sort of AI features.

The latest flagship offering by the South Korean company boasts of a range of features, including a boombox speaker, a customisable notch and AI integration.

Internally, the smartphone is powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. There are two versions of the G7 ThinQ, one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but both include a microSD card slot. Plus, the bottom bezel is nearly 50% slimmer than that on the LG G6.

This is according to a Geekbench benchmark listing that showcases the suspected G7 ThinQ with model number LGE GM-710.

On the software side, the phone ships with Android 8.0 Oreo.

The LG G7 ThinQ features dual cameras that support 19 shooting modes through its AI CAM feature. Apparently, the users will be able to customize notch in whichever way they want.

The smartphones earned the "MIL-STD 810G" certification by meeting tough security requirements approved by the U.S. Department of Defense. There is also a "Super Bright Camera" mode, which kicks in when conditions are extremely dark and automatically increases the brightness of the photo.

The display on the G7 ThinQ can be set to different modes, depending on the content on the screen.

However, you will not have to worry about this with the LG G7 ThinQ.

As for the camera, the LG G7 ThinQ features a main shooter with dual lenses, both using 16 megapixel sensors, along with an 8 megapixel selfie camera. This is identical to the V30S ThinQ that LG announced at MWC, and there's no hardware aspect like with Huawei's camera AI. LG claims that the smartphone comes with AI functionality. Below those cameras is a fingerprint reader, and around front is an 8MP wide angle f/1.9 camera.

Holding it down, for instance, triggers Google Assistant without you having to say OK Google first. Google Assistant can be launched with a single tap of the button while a double tap will launch Google Lens. It also got a dedicated Google Assistant button.

The LG G7ThinQ comes with Boombox Speaker and is also the first smartphone to offer DTS:X to deliver virtual 3D sound. The company has generously included a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC. Battery capacity stands at 3,000mAh and is compliant with the Qualcomm QuickCharge 30 tech.
