Rockets show no fear on brink of Finals despite losing Chris Paul

Andre Iguodala sat out the game with a knee injury and his status for Game 6 is questionable which means that the Warriors starters may have to play heavy minutes again.

If the Rockets win, they can await Paul's medical update as they prepare for their first trip to the NBA Finals since winning the title in 1995. The could be particularly true after Kerr said following Game 5 that the Warriors will be in great position for the final two games if they can simply "calm down".

But now he will miss Game 6 of the Western Conference finals on Saturday night because of a hamstring injury. But the victory came with a cost, as Paul had to leave the game in the final minute with a right hamstring injury.

Paul finished the game with another quality performance, scoring 18 of his 20 points in the second half. "But, yeah, [I need to] probably mix it up a bit and see where I can get different catches and touches because they're kind of figuring stuff out for us". So Curry will keep shimmying, and he seems to hope Paul will too.

Quinn Cook, who normally doesn't get the green light late in games, missed a three-pointer with 42 seconds left.

"It will not change anything that we do or how we do it", D'Antoni said.

D'Antoni said "without a doubt" the team will be able to handle the challenge of playing Game 6 without CP3.

Despite the loss and facing elimination, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he wasn't anxious.

"What we put out there on the floor the last two games could've easily been two wins", added Green. "We'll just continue to take it day to day.". When he was asked about his readiness for Game 6, Paul reportedly said, "Oh, yeah". Without him, Golden State's margin for error widens significantly, as the Rockets have no obvious replacement for Paul on either side of the ball.

But team medical staff officially ruled the former Clipper out this afternoon, handing defending champions Golden State a potential lifeline as they face elimination at the Oracle Arena this weekend.
