Roseanne Barr blames Ambien for tweet; drug maker replies

"I tend to be pretty forgiving to people who feel they can get a good show out there and keep the star in check, and you usually can, because a lot of stars can be problematic", said Garth Ancier, a veteran television executive who ran entertainment programming at Fox, NBC and the WB networks.

But did ABC do "the wrong thing" by rebooting "Roseanne" to begin with? Like, you know what, no matter what kind of divorce you had, that's a weird thing to say. Jarrett, who is black, was born in Iran to American parents. Her social media past includes a racist tweet about former national security adviser Susan Rice and support for conspiracy theories like "pizzagate".

"I said look, someone has got to tell her that Donald Trump doesn't carry his own phone", Arnold says.

She explained: "hey guys, don't defend me, it's sweet of you 2 try, but. losing my show is 0 compared 2 being labelled a racist over one tweet-that I regret even more". "And then if her insane tweets came out, she could point to that and say, 'But I have taken a step back'". She said of the Jarrett tweet, "It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting". That's a fact. Donald Trump - Roseanne and I have both known him 30 years. Barr later wrote that "i blamed myself. not ambien".

Despite the significant viewership ratings Barr was bringing in, ABC chose to terminate her show's revival in light of the ludicrous, racist statements she made yesterday on Twitter.

But Trump didn't say anything about that.

Earlier that day, she also targeted Chelsea Clinton, tweeting, "Chelsea Soros Clinton", suggesting in another tweet that the former first daughter is in cahoots with liberal businessman George Soros because she married his nephew. Since continuing the show without Barr in the title role still means financial benefits for her as its creator, putting the remaining cast in a new show is something that works for everyone. They do it because we have a white trash racist president. "Yes, she made a terrible joke and she apologized". Barr's racist tweet and the nearly immediate axing of her show put hundreds of people out of work.

"Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that "ABC does not tolerate comments like those" made by Roseanne Barr", Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.
