US Senator John McCain 'not expected' to return to work

Hatch's thoughts about McCain needing to invite Trump to his funeral are just the opposite of Congressman Gregory Meeks, who believes that McCain is asking Trump to stay away because he's not going to be a hypocrite.

At least one fellow Republican lawmaker, Sen.

"I'd like everybody to take a collective breath and chill out on my dad for a second -- especially Orrin Hatch", Meghan McCain said on ABC's "The View". McCain endured years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. He spent six years as a prisoner of war after he was almost killed when his plane was shot down over Hanoi in 1967.

But there is something even more troubling regarding Trump when it comes to that war.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who is undergoing treatment for an aggressive form of brain cancer, has reportedly told friends he does not want President Trump at his funeral.

"He's the President of the United States".

Trump infamously mocked McCain's military service during the 2016 presidential campaign. McCain writes this will be his last term and "it's been quite a ride". "I like people who weren't captured". It finally came to a head when his wife and daughter were forced to call the president and ask that he not personally attack the senator while he's fighting for his life.

Those comments cut deeply.

"Take many seats right now", Meghan McCain said in response to Hatch.

However, McCain's decision to disinvite Trump had also prompted some to point out that not everyone at the White House will be sorry about Trump's absence, pointing out the enjoyable time First Lady Melania Trump and former President Barack Obama had at Barbara Bush's send-off.
