West Ham keeper Adrian hoping to keep Hart sidelined

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has slammed West Ham's Andy Carroll, after the striker chose to leave his place on the bench during the Hammers' 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Though his appearances have been limited to just four in the league, Moyes insists that Evra's influence has been critical for West Ham, not only on the pitch, but also away from it.

We were really disappointed with how we played, even against the champions but overall, they are keen to put it right and their motivation and attitude has been very good.

David Moyes has fined Andy Carroll following his "inexcusable" decision to leave the bench during West Ham's game against Manchester City. 'The games were massive when I arrived in November.

"The following day we had a discussion in the office at Rush Green [West Ham's training ground]".

Reports from the training ground the next day claimed that Carroll and Moyes were involved in a heated discussion about the incident and the West Ham boss has since revealed that he'd chose to fine the striker.

"Within an hour, it seemed, it was out there for public consumption, which is also disappointing".

"Patrice Evra has been fantastic around the Club since he arrived in February", Moyes said at a press conference. "Since then, he's been back training".

West Ham, who are 15th in the league with 35 points, return to league action on Saturday with a trip to ninth-placed Leicester City.

"They know exactly what is at stake so we will all try and work together and get a positive result".
