Cavs complete in Game One as Kevin Love cleared to play

Instead, it was teammate JR Smith who sparked a meltdown after the Cavs star's unforgivable brain explosion in the final seconds of Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

In a tight contest, which saw the game tied at the halfway mark, a mistake by JR Smith in the dying seconds of regulation play proved to be the turning point Golden State finally needed to lift themselves above their opponents.

Instead of trying to take a game winning shot or pass the ball to a teammate, Smith ran down the clock and fired a pass to Hill with less than a second left in the game. The Warriors then took over in overtime, defeating the Cavaliers 124-114. A LeBron 3 in the third quarter put Cleveland up three, giving the Cavaliers their first lead of the second half.

Schwartz, presumably, isn't the only person who got such advice from James.

James, playing in his eighth successive finals, claimed his best play-off points haul - the highest since Michael Jordan scored 55 in 1993. We got the offensive rebound and I thought we were all aware of what was going on, that's my view.

"For our team to come out and play their hearts out and compete the way we did, man, it's bad", said Lue.

Needless to say Lebron James was NOT happy. However, the Cavaliers' coach, Tyronn Lue, told reporters that Smith had told him he thought the team was up by 1 point and was trying to run out the clock.

The loss, in part, was down to a freaky moment from Cavs star Smith when the scores were tied 107-107 with 4.7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

However, after initially reviewing the play to check if James was fully outside the restricted area at the time of contact, the officiating crew reversed the decision, much to Cleveland's frustration.

One NewsOne reader shared another meme with us in what is bound to be an endless stream of artistic endeavors. "We know they are going to come out with a lot of energy and we have to be better". But the officials then called for a replay, as National Basketball Association rules allow for that type of play in the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime.

Kevin Durant added 26 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three blocks, while Klay Thompson scored 24 points.

Green just missed a triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for Golden State, which is attempting to repeat as champions.
