Harry Kane Signs Huge New Contract To Stay At Tottenham

The news of the deal for Kane was widely appreciated by fans, many of whom took to Twitter to express their delight that their star man has pledged his future to the club.

Indeed, it's reported that his weekly wage will be somewhere near the £200,000 mark once all relevant bonuses are chucked in.

"I love watching things on YouTube and things like that; you could just sit there for an hour or so watching all his best clips", Kane told Sky Sports of Ronaldo.

The announcement for the new contract came in a rather novel manner as the club posted a brief video update showing the progress in construction at the new stadium.

In all competitions, Kane struck 41 times in 48 matches, putting him three shy of Champions League victor Ronaldo and four behind Messi. For me personally, though, I just want to improve.

And that has led to the likes of Real Madrid sniffing round the 24-year-old.

He netted 56 goals for Spurs and England in the 2017 calendar year.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has already signed a new long-term contract while there is an ambition to extend the deals of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen before the start of next season.

He is now Tottenham's leading scorer in the Premier League era, surpassing Teddy Sheringham's club record of 97.

The pressure will be on Kane to deliver having established himself as the best striker in the Premier League and one of the best in Europe - scoring 135 goals across all competitions in the last four years. I'm just excited to keep on the train and see where it can go.

A predecessor as both England's number nine and captain, only Shearer has reached 100 Premier League goals quicker than Kane, whose 141 appearances outstripped Sergio Aguero's 147 but fell behind the Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United great's 124.
