Leaked Images Claim to Show Off Google's Pixel 3 XL

A pair of images of a device believed to be the Pixel 3 XL have emerged on the XDADevelopers forum.

Our first bit of evidence came from our tipster, XDA Senior Member meraz9000, who published the first ever real-life pictures of an alleged Google Pixel 3 XL prototype.

For reference, here are the two shots from this morning with the screen showing the phone has a Snapdragon 845, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. From these pictures we can see the front and back of the device, and what looks to be a very deep notch at the top of the handset, enclosing the earpiece between a pair of front-facing cameras. Perhaps one of the more common pieces of information is that the upcoming and unannounced Pixel 3 XL would proudly incorporate a notch into its front display.

THE INCOMING Google Pixel 3 XL has been pictured in the wild, confirming that, er, it's not all that exciting. In the notch, a speaker and two cameras set comfortably.

As for the rear, it's nearly exactly identical to the Pixel 2 XL, except there's a new sensor in between the camera and the phone's flash. It's just that this time around, the Google Pixel 3 will be manufactured by Foxconn. Since acquiring HTC engineers involved in the making of the Pixel 2 as well as intellectual property rights from HTC, it seems like Google has what they need to continue implementing the Pixel 2's squeeze feature in future smartphones. As for launch, Google's expected to unveil the Pixel 3 range in October - so it's going to be a while before we find out just what's what. The company will likely the ditch in-display fingerprint sensor and go with a physical rear-mounted fingerprint button. It looks like the Pixel 3 XL will have the notched display, which was speculated considering Android P has support for the same. It also looks like Google will continue with single rear camera at the back. A notched design for Pixel 3 XL does not come as a surprise given Android P, which is the latest operating system includes support for notch.
