Arsenal striker Lucas Perez completes move to West Ham United

Perez scored seven goals in 21 appearances for the North London club. I am always aiming as high as I can and if we can put West Ham in the Champions League why not?

Reports of West Ham's interest in Arsenal outcast Lucas Perez first arose yesterday and things have progressed significantly in the past 24 hours, with a deal now on the verge of completion as we enter the final days of the window.

"I'm very happy to be here at such an historic club", he said in a statement on West Ham's website.

The Spain global was signed by the Emirates club from Deportivo La Coruna for £17m in the summer of 2016.

The 29-year-old is West Ham's seventh signing of the close season.

The Hammers also added Sanchez, 32, just before the deadline shut.

He left for Fiorentina on loan after that relegation and made that move permanent a year ago.

Having been included in Arsenal's pre-season tour of Singapore it appeared Perez was potentially going to be given a fresh start under new head coach Unai Emery.

"From the very first meeting I had with Lucas, he made it very clear that he wanted to come to West Ham United and, for us, this is very important". I'm very excited and looking forward to achieving lots, ' said Sanchez after completing his move.

Perez managed to score eight goals in 35 matches for Deportivo who have been relegated into the Segunda division in Spain last season.

Perez and Sanchez join Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop, Jack Wilshere, Aindriy Yarmolenko, Fabian Balbuena and Felipe Anderson in moving to the Hammers this summer.
