Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho expects 'difficult season'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed two players will miss out on this weekend's Wolverhampton clash due to injury.

"I would say Marcos Rojo is the one that is still not training with the team and Ander Herrera is not ready to play but is in the final phase of his recovery process", Mourinho said.

Antonio Valencia is expected to return in the right-back role, having been rested for the midweek win over the Swiss champions. To play for Manchester United is hard enough for a kid of 19 years old coming from another country and after an important injury [to a knee] and surgery.

The manager was disappointed not to recruit a senior player in the position during the summer window as he believed this was required to bolster his rearguard.

The Chile global is yet to score in four games this season and has managed just three in 22 games since arriving from Arsenal. He doesn't need to face more difficulties because of an accumulation of matches.

"Maybe we have to continue working and that is the thing and I think we can do it". Rojo did suit up for the club's under-23 team last week and played 55 minutes.

"I think we are improving as a team. The spirit, the cooperation, the empathy, the communication - all of that improve the team".

Nuno Espírito Santo has praised José Mourinho for paving the way for him and other Portuguese managers to have successful careers overseas.

The closeness of Mendes' involvement at Molineux prompted the English Football League to investigate the set-up last season, although it was found to comply with the body's rules. He's my agent and that's it. We are going to play better than we did but I think it's going to be a very hard season.

Paul Pogba's fine form for Manchester United this season is evidence that post-World Cup hangovers are as much mental as physical, according to the club's manager Jose Mourinho.
