Terry's Chelsea return down to him, says Sarri

The Brazilian has played every single minute of the Blues' Premier League campaign so far this season and continues to remain at the top of the pecking order, despite Chelsea shifting to a back four this season.

David Luiz has said he "loves" Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri because he wants his players to "live life".

Maurizio Sarri has said he has been warning his Chelsea players all week about the danger of dropping points after worldwide breaks as they prepare to resume their Premier League campaign at home to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Luiz, who was a peripheral figure under Antonio Conte last season, has rejuvenated his career at Stamford Bridge under Sarri this term.

Sarri has made a superb start to life in the Premier League, with Chelsea claiming four wins from four, however their momentum was halted by the first worldwide break of the season.

"Here he is a point of reference, here it is John Terry's home so he will be very important for everybody, only the presence".

Luiz said: "He wants to play with the ball, he wants to play with intensity, to work on the details and to give us all the information he can about the next game and the opponent".

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has confirmed he wants to sign Chelsea teenager Ethan Ampadu on loan.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said on Friday he was open to Terry returning to the Premier League club as a coach. The gap was 30 points at the beginning of the season.

"If he wants to help us, I'm very, very happy". But, for me, it's a pleasure.

"If there is a pitch and there are 11 players, I feel at home anywhere", he said.

"I think so. I hope not. It's 12 or 13 hours, but for me it's not working".

"I don't know the situation, I have to speak to the doctor, I don't know if he will be able to play".
