Draymond Green, Kevin Durant Altercation Continued After Warriors’ Loss

Steph Curry's absence was notable as he works his way back from a groin strain, and in his stead, Kevin Durant took on the role of main option.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is expected to miss Tuesday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks due to his verbal confrontation with teammate Kevin Durant.

Green can be a free agent in 2020, but Durant's sensitivity is well-documented, and it is clear that he was unhappy with how events played out on Monday night.

None of the Warriors' stars on the floor had a game totally out of the ordinary, and yet, the NBA's top team still fell to a Clippers squad with a combined zero career All-Star selections.

With fewer than seven minutes remaining, the Warriors found themselves down 14 and on pace for a deflating loss in the Staples Center. They didn't go up by double digits until Harrell's basket to open the fourth. "We stayed after it and kept going after them". So we'll just have to see what's up next for the two-time defending champs as they look to put this behind them.

Durant finished with a triple-double at 33 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Warriors eventually lost 121-116 in overtime. The Warriors have also won three of the last four NBA championships and made four consecutive NBA Finals appearances since 2015.

The Clippers crashed the boards - every player grabbed at least one - and they dominated in the paint, 62-36.

"I told our guys to empty the gun at the beginning of the third", Clippers coach Doc Rivers said.

The Clippers shot 60 per cent and led 64-61 at halftime.
