Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveals all its remaining fighters

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveals all its remaining fighters

The spirits seem to be represented in-game as mostly 2D artwork but they all have special buffs and abilities that they can confer to your chosen fighter.

One of the bigger reveals in today's Smash Direct was easily the game's new Spirits feature that's connected to the Adventure Mode.

Nintendo didn't go into massive detail for "World of Light", the new RPG-like adventure gametype, but it did give us plenty of footage.

Additionally, these "spirits" will also be used to power up your added amiibo fighters. Nintendo suggested using a dedicated connection instead of Wifi in order to stay connected due the possibility of getting a quit penalty.

In addition, the presentation revealed that the Smash World app is in development for release on iOS and Android in 2019.

The game will feature 103 stages, and new stages will include Dracula's Castle from Castlevania and New Donk City Hall from Super Mario Odyssey.

You'll be able to specify certain rulesets for rooms online for matches. Ultimate, at least at launch.

Players can also buy a $24.99 (about £20 / AU$35) Fighters Pass to get access to all five as they release, rather than paying $5.99 per DLC, and will also get an exclusive Mii Fighter outfit based on Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

We also hope to learn more about the Spirits mode that Nintendo hinted at in its last Direct.

The Pokémon franchise's Incineroar will join the game as the Echo Fighter for Ryu. Ultimate managed to surprise us.
