Ariana Grande Accuses Grammys Of 'Lying' About Why She's Not Performing

A source close to the singer tells CNN that Grande has decided not to perform at Sunday's event - or attend - after a dispute with the show's producers.

According to Variety, the singer has been left feeling "insulted" after organisers of the show wouldn't allow her to perform new single "7 Rings" despite other performers not having the same stipulations imposed against them.

'I've kept my mouth shut but now you're lying about me. The song is the second track from her new album "thank u, next" expected to be released February 8 before the awards show.

Interestingly enough, the fact that Ariana was going to perform at the show in the first place was only speculation that Ariana even slammed as "false" in a tweet at the end of last month. Grande is said to have pulled out of performing at this stage. I want to do it on my own terms from now on'. "Not doing favors or playing games.it's just a game y'all. and i'm sorry but that's not what music is to me".

She pointed this out, writing that she: 'passed a Grammy's bus with my face on it typing those [tweets]'.

During an interview with Billboard previous year, Ariana made it very clear that she is not a pushover in the industry.

Instead, they offered her a spot performing during the Tom Petty tribute, which she ultimately declined.

However, like Ariana, she turned it down.

The 25-year-old is also nominated for two awards at the ceremony, Best Pop Vocal Performance for "God Is a Woman" and Best Pop Vocal Album for 2018's Sweetener.

Scheduled performers during the Grammys include Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Brandi Carlile, H.E.R., Dan + Shay, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes and Janelle Monáe.
