Grizzlies trade Marc Gasol to Toronto

The Raptors reportedly offered Valanciunas and Kyle Lowry for Gasol and Mike Conley, but that deal was rejected by the Grizzlies.

"Today was a hard day ... you think about a guy like Marc Gasol, we owe him nothing but appreciation, respect for what he's done for the organization".

"(Gasol) is one of the best fives in the league for a long time now, perennial all-star, defensive player of the year", VanVleet said.

Green averaged 9.8 points and 5.1 rebounds in 41 games for Memphis this season.

And as Thursday wore on, Raptors fans took to social media to implore Ujiri to make a major move.

The Utah Jazz haven't been involved in a trade yet - at least not one that's gone public - but former Beehive State players Delon Wright and C.J. Miles will reportedly have new National Basketball Association homes. ESPN, which first reported the Gasol deal, also said CJ Miles and Delon Wright were included in the deal with Valanciunas. That is what I want to do. "The trade also provides us with an opportunity to continue to develop two promising young players while giving us future flexibility".

"That's our goal and I think everybody on the team understands that and we'll keep trying to achieve that goal".

With Kawhi Leonard's contract expiring and the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks stockpiling picks around them in the East, the Raptors are making their move.

The 6ft 10in Mirotic is averaging 16.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds, both career highs, in 32 games.

The Wizards lost center Dwight Howard to a back injury earlier this season, and if he does come back, there are no guarantees he will be 100 percent.

It's just the latest off-court drama for a franchise involved in a failed three-team trade in December over confusion about which Brooks (MarShon or Dillon) was included in the deal. Apparently, the Grizzlies view Conley as someone who can serve as a mentor for precocious big man Jaren Jackson Jr.
