Huawei Is Unveiling a 5G Foldable Phone Later This Month

This would be a completely different phone from the foldable phone we're expecting to see at the company's February 20 event just prior to MWC 2019. They are planning to showcase their version of the product in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, a tech trade show to be held next month.

While it looks cool, the shape of the hinge may augur that it won't fold flat. Before the invite, it was rumored that the company would have the phone there.

Rumours are rife that the S10 will arrive packing a fully edge-to-edge screen which will cover every corner of the device.

According to news sources LG and Huawei are prime highlights, the brands plans to introduce their unique foldable 5G smartphone models. We've got the same Infinity-O screen just like the other two handsets and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom. Joining the fleet is Huawei, which confirmed the launch of its first foldable smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona this month.

Meanwhile, Samsung, Xiaomi and LG have also been working on the foldable devices. Are you ready to reveal the unprecedented? The 5G foldable smartphone is expected to come equipped with the in-house HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC and the Balong 5000 modem. Last week, Richard Yu, Huawei's CEO, talked about launching the company's first 5G foldable phones.

Samsung confirmed it was working on a folding device back in November, a phone created to be folded in half like a small book, using technology the company has dubbed Infinity Flex Display.
