R. Kelly pleads not guilty to all charges

As it was reported earlier, R. Kelly, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The fourth and final victim was identified as J.P., and the incidents she was involved in led to the final three sexual abuse charges against Kelly.

"Kelly owed more than $169,000 in unpaid child support to his ex-wife as of February 6.The court ordered Kelly to make a monthly payment of $20,833 on January 8, 2009, but Kelly failed to show up to that hearing, per court documents".

This is a developing story; check back with The Herald-News for updates. An infamous tape that allegedly showed Kelly urinating on a young girl formed the basis of his 2008 child pornography trial; Kelly denied it was him on the tape, and was acquitted after the girl said to be on screen refused to testify.

"I don't know if it's R. Kelly or not on those photos, but anyone can have photos", Greenberg said.

R. Kelly's lawyer revealed that his client was not in possession of the funds required to be released due to "mismanagement", "hangers-on" and "bad deals".

Speaking Friday after Kelly's arrest, Greenberg accused the women of "lying" and slammed Foxx for bringing the charges.

The walls began closing in on Kelly after the release of a BBC documentary about him past year and the multipart Lifetime documentary "Surviving R. Kelly", which aired last month.

From there, it also states that there's substantial evidence that proves Kelly and his team hid the tape from prosecutors during his 2008 trial, while obstructing justice by paying off witnesses to destroy all copies of the tape prior to the trial. Kelly told a judge "yes, sir" when reminded that a condition of his bond requires him to have no contact with minors, Duncan and Gauthier report. Greenberg said last month that the claims against the 52-year-old were "false", and stated that his client "never knowingly had sex with an underage woman".

"This is someone who should be wealthy at this stage of his career", Greenberg said last week.

Additionally, he allegedly videotaped himself having sex with an underaged girl in the late 1990s.

At a press conference on Friday, Avenatti told reporters that he was confident Kelly would face consequences in "multiple jurisdictions" across the country.

"He's a rock star".

Meanwhile, R. Kelly has strongly denied any allegations of abuse or misconduct. According to prosecutors, numerous young women have come forward detailing alleged sexual acts they engaged in with Kelly, all while they were underage.

Each of the 10 Class 2 felony counts carries a maximum of seven years in prison upon conviction but also could result in probation. Probation is also an option.
