Anthem is Reportedly Crashing PlayStation 4 Consoles

Some players have reported that Sony will gave players who have suffered from these problems on the console a refund for Anthem if they ask, however this has yet to be confirmed by Sony themselves.

If you are planning to play EA's new online multiplayer action RPG Anthem on PS4, it's best to delay installing it at least for the next few days.

According to the BBC some gamers reported that it did not strike if they manually turned their console off after playing rather than leaving it in a suspended mode.

"Happened to me as well", Terry2Toke, one of the hundreds of Reddit users who commented on the thread, revealed.

Update, 3/4 3:50 p.m. PT: In a statement recently posted to the EA Help Twitter account, EA acknowledged it is aware of some crashing issues and directed players to the EA Answers website. "The console powers down and will not power on using the normal method of pressing the PS4 button on the controller", wrote one player. The PS4 version of the game now has a score of 57/100 on Metacritic, but it has been even more mercilessly judged by users, who have scored it at 4.2/10.

A number of players have been able to get a refund for the game, while others did not.

Have you experienced the crashing issues mentioned on Reddit?

Several users are reporting that requests for refunds have proved successful.

"It is the same as if someone pulled the plug without properly shutting the hardware down or if the power went out in the house".

However, Bioware engineers have responded to complaints in the game's official forums, where they said they were "hard at work" on a fix. One player claims that he continued playing after a crash and another crash followed that completely bricked his console.

When it comes to refund policies, Sony has one of the strictest refund policies out there. "We're investigating and ask that you share your crash data reports when prompted".
