Former Wisconsin QB Alex Hornibrook transferring to Florida State

In three seasons, Hornibrook has a 60.5 completion percentage, 155 passing yards per game and 47 touchdown passes with 33 interceptions.

The Seminoles are in need of depth at quarterback. FSU now has three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.

After redshirting his first season with the program, Hornibrook became the team's starter in 2016 as a redshirt freshman, but often split time with senior Bart Houston. The Badgers finished the season with an 8-5 record. Then, just a month before spring practice was set to begin, coach Willie Taggart dismissed returning starter Deondre Francois.

Hornibrook brings winning acumen and a lot of game experience with him, but Florida State's bad offensive line makes durability a question after he suffered a concussion previous year. In that campaign, he threw for 2,644 yards, 25 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. It's also far from a guarantee he beats Blackman out for the starting job, or keeps the job if he does win it once his limitations as a passer are put on display out of the run-oriented cocoon he was provided at Wisconsin. In 2017, when Francois was injured, James Blackman filled in. Jordan Travis transferred in from Louisville but is awaiting to hear whether he will get a waiver for immediate eligibility.

Add another milestone to the storied career of Florida State baseball coach Mike Martin.
