Madrid has only days to pick up pieces for another clasico

Barca secured a 3-0 win in the second leg of their semi-final against El Clasico rivals Real Madrid to win 4-1 on aggregate after two second-half efforts from Luis Suarez and Raphael Varane's own goal.

"We did everything we could".

As well as having the chance to win the cup for a fifth straight year, Barcelona already have their name on the trophy more than any other side, lifting it 30 times already.

The teenager has scored seven goals and registered 13 assists in 30 games across all competitions within his debut season in Spain.

"We played well", said the Brazilian. "A week ago we talked about [Karim] Benzema being the best nine, Vinicius, Lucas [Vazquez]...we can not talk about Cristiano because he's not a Madrid player".

What Vinicius is not yet is an accomplished finisher. "He is a reflection of the team he plays for, who are halfway to nobody knows where". "The more you play, the more you learn", he said.

"When he is in the area he is at 200 per cent", Barca coach Ernesto Valverde said.

"We missed a goal, but the top players are doing everything very well, especially Karim, who is making his best season at Madrid". "He has a sense for where the goal is". Messi came on for the final half and hour, but he's expected to go from the start on Wednesday after scoring a hat trick vs. Sevilla over the weekend.

Atletico Madrid play a resurgent Real Sociedad on Sunday while Getafe's surprise challenge for Champions League qualification continues away at Real Betis.

He said: "It's hard to repeat a result against the same opponent, but we will try to win because the league demands it".

The teams meet again on Saturday in a Spanish league match back at the Bernabeu, which the Spanish sports daily Marca is calling "Camp Bernabeu", because of Barcelona's recent success there.

Some have suggested going far in the Copa del Rey harms Barca's chances in Europe but Valverde picked his strongest side against Madrid, and is likely to do so again on Saturday.

After knocking Real Madrid out of the Copa del Rey, Barcelona now have the opportunity to send their rivals packing in the title race too.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm UK time, so just after the conclusion of West Ham United vs Newcastle United in the Premier League.
