Samantha Markle has called George Clooney 'looney' and she needs to stop

The saga took a further twist last night when Clooney claimed the Duchess, 37, is being "pursued, vilified and chased" in the same way that Princess Diana was.

Samantha Markle, the half-sister of your favorite American TV star-turned-Duchess, has momentarily pivoted her attention away from her own family (and we're not just talking about Meghan, she's gone after her nephew, too) and set her sights on another American treasure: one George Clooney.

Meghan and Harry's outing comes just one day after the expectant royal was defended by George Clooney, who attended the pair's wedding previous year.

But her recent appearances have prompted speculation over whether Meghan could be having twins.

"She's been pursued and vilified", Clooney said at a promotional event for his new film, according to the UK's Press Association (PA) news agency. "We've seen how that ends".

This comes after Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper published a personal letter allegedly sent by Meghan to her estranged father; the actor felt the need to step in to defend the Duchess.

So much so that royal aides at Kensington Palace are reportedly spending hours each week monitoring their social media accounts to moderate the sexist and racist comments aimed at Meghan, her sister-in-law Kate, and their fans.

Diana died in a Paris vehicle crash in 1997 after her driver, who had been drinking, attempted to drive away at speed from paparazzi photographers.

"I can't tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father, she's getting a raw deal there and I think it's irresponsible and I'm surprised by that".

In 2016, shortly after their relationship became public, Prince Harry issued a rare statement criticizing the media for intruding into Ms. Meghan's private life, saying the press had subjected her to "a wave of abuse and harassment".
