Senior BJP leader admits Modis aggression against Pakistan will help win seats

Congress leader K C Venugopal on Thursday said former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's remark that India's preemptive air strike on a terror camp in Pakistan would help the BJP win 22 Lok Sabha seats in the state revealed the "most deceitful and shameless motive" of the party.

He was interacting with about one crore BJP workers in 15,000 locations through what the party said was the "world's largest video conference".

Modi, in his e-address, said, "Every citizen in the country right now wants to contribute in some way or the other towards India's betterment".

The prime minister also said 2014 was a mandate for fulfilling people's necessities while the 2019 election will be about fulfilling people's aspirations. This is not first time that i said BJP in Karnataka will win minimum 22 seats under the able leadership of Modi ji.

This statement of Yeddyurappa has drawn the wrath of many in the state.

Currently, BJP holds 16 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, Congress 10 and JD (S) 2. Is winning elections becoming the criteria for BJP and not the security of India.

Indian opposition parties slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government on Wednesday for "blatant politicisation" of the prevailing security situation and deaths of armed personnel, signalling that they would no longer restrain themselves from questioning him.

Amid tensions with India, Pakistan PM Imran Khan announced in the Parliament that they will be releasing Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman tomorrow in a 'peace gesture.' This announcement came minutes before joint Indian military press briefing that was scheduled at 5 pm. "While the nation is trying to rally in solidarity with the soldiers, you [Modi] are trying to strengthen your vote bank", Kejriwal said in a tweet.

"Don't take this any further, Pakistan will be forced to retaliate". Two of the pilots were also killed in the incident.

The day was also witness to another crash.
