TMZ: ‘Airwolf’ star Jan-Michael Vincent dead at 74

Vincent, who stared on the show, "Airwolf", died on February 10, according to TMZ.

Vincent had been a patient in a hospital in North Carolina at the time of his passing.

The outlet noted that they were advised that no autopsy was performed, and Vincent was cremated.

Vincent's acting career began in 1967, when he was spotted by a talent scout just after finishing a stint in the California Army National Guard.

Airwolf became a hit on CBS in the mid-1980s, with Vincent as Stringfellow Hawke, the pilot of the show's highly-advanced helicopter.

His last role was in the 2002 drama White Boy.

He was reportedly paid $200,000 for each episode.

His other movie roles included Buster and Billie, TV movie The Tribe, surf movie "Big Wednesday, Hooper, and Damnation Alley".

The actor was involved in a vehicle accident in 1996 in California which resulted in a neck injury which damaged his vocal cords.

He is survived by his third wife, Patricia Ann Vincent, whom he married in 2000, and his daughter, Amber Vincent, from his first marriage to Bonnie Portman.

Vincent struggled with addiction issues and in 2012 contracted a leg infection which ultimately resulted in the actor having the lower half of his right leg amputated.
