Tottenham's Pochettino gets two-game ban for improper conduct

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he wants both Manchester City and Liverpool to join Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Time is short but the move can not come soon enough for Tottenham after construction delays this season forced them to play European games at Wembley for a third successive season. UEFA have the power to make exceptions in certain cases.

Pochettino watched Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in the second leg of their last-16 tie, with Harry Kane scoring the goal that earned them a 4-0 aggregate win.

A lot of work has also been done by Proud and Palace, a LGBT group at the South London club, who will be very visible at the game this weekend.

Tottenham had hoped to kick off the new season at their new home but that was put back to September then delayed indefinitely as delays on the construction of the impressive-looking venue persisted.

The question he was actually asked was whether he thinks Spurs will be in their new stadium in time for the Champions League quarter-finals. "The wish is to play".

"It was fantastic, job done", Pochettino added.

"It's a massive achievement for the team".

"We fully deserved this". 'Maybe the team of a couple of years ago would concede and then it's much more hard so we are making steps forward.

"After the first leg result, you could see the risks Dortmund took".

Sport Ilustra featured a photograph of the young Vinicius covering his face with the shirt, showing his pain at having to leave the field in the first half.

Speaking after the game, Burki said: "We knew it will be really hard because of the loss in the first leg. Tottenham waited for their chance and with Harry Kane up front you can do that".

The Spurs fans have been denied so far this season and I feel for them but around the country there will be intrigue as to whether it will live up to the hype.

That was a view echoed by Mario Gotze, who said: "When you saw how we approached the first half and how much energy there was in the stadium, that was very, very, very good, at a very high level".
