US Lawmakers Announce Sweeping Document Requests in Trump Probe

President Donald Trump on Sunday said he is "an innocent man", and also claimed that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is "illegal".

People cheer as U.S. President Donald Trump (not pictured) speaks at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) annual meeting at National Harbor near Washington, U.S., March 2, 2019.

After hugging the flag as he walked on stage, he greeted the crowd as "great patriots, old friends, and young conservatives".

With the Mueller investigation reportedly coming to an end, Trump criticized the probe as a "collusion delusion" and said that political foes were trying to take him out with "bullshit". The president reiterated his previous criticism of former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom he fired a day after the November midterm elections, calling him "weak" for recusing himself from Mueller's investigation.

Trump, often speaking in mocking tones, portrayed the Green New Deal climate strategy touted by the left of the Democratic party as a socialist plan that will devastate the fossil fuel and automotive industries. This is examined in may 2017, among other things, the Russia-contacts of the Trump team in the election campaign, and possible future Attempts by the President to torpedo the investigation activities.

Those criminal probes and others could carry on for months if not years after Mueller completes his Russian Federation investigation, potentially casting an even longer shadow over Trump's time in the Oval Office. Now, Cohen says Trump's Russian business involvement extended for months after that.

According to Mr Comey, the President had encouraged the then-FBI director to drop an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

But making that fact disappear is central to Trumpian propaganda: Trump also quoted the buffoonish Ari Fleischer literally describing the 2016 campaign as the "last election", the verdict of which Democrats should heed by. not launching investigations.

In interviews with two dozen people in the small towns and villages south and west of Wisconsin's state capital, Madison, the upcoming report was met with frustration and exasperation, illustrating the dangers Democrats face with swing voters if they go too far on the issue.

"We're all in love together", he said.

The speech came at the end of a hard week for the president. They don't put it this way, but this is what they're really saying.

"I think the New Green Deal or whatever the hell they call it - the Green New Deal - I encourage it", Trump said mockingly as he wound up for a round of exaggeration.

During Cohen's testimony the president was in Vietnam where a high-stakes second summit between Trump and Kim broke up in disarray Thursday, without even a joint statement.

"This is how I got elected, by being off script. and if we don't go off script, our country is in big trouble, folks", he began.

Trump, since returning from his collapsed summit in Hanoi last week with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has resumed his attacks on Mueller's investigation and the growing number of inquiries in Congress.

President Donald Trump rallied right-wing activists Saturday with a speech offering conservative red meat on immigration, trade and the threat of "socialism" as he sought to move on from a bruising week in domestic and global politics. Trump provided an inflated picture of his assets to Deutsche Bank when preparing to make a bid to buy the NFL's Buffalo Bills, Cohen said in his testimony.

The chairman of the House committee in charge of impeachment has revealed the panel is requesting documents from more than 60 people from Trump's administration, family and business as part of a rapidly expanding Russian Federation investigation.
